RO STUDIO / ROBLOX CREATOR GUIDE
Roblox thumbnail size and export checklist
Use a 16:9 canvas for a game thumbnail, keep the important content inside a safe composition area, and inspect the actual downloaded file.
Recommended thumbnail canvas
Ro Thumbnail recommends a 1920 × 1080 export for a 16:9 Roblox game thumbnail and also supports 1280 × 720. Work at the final aspect ratio from the start so a later crop does not remove the character, action, or title.
Use one of the supported 16:9 exports
The current exporter offers 1920 × 1080 and 1280 × 720 in PNG or JPG. It does not expose an additional icon size, so choose the resolution before reviewing the final crop and text.
Check the small card view
A title that looks comfortable on a large canvas can overwhelm a discovery card. Use the feed preview, keep the headline short, and confirm that the subject still reads when the image is reduced. Automated reminders are a first pass, not a substitute for looking at the result.
Inspect the downloaded file
Export PNG when you want lossless output or JPG when a smaller file is useful. Open the downloaded asset and confirm its pixel dimensions, crop, color, and text. Editor guides and controls stay outside the export.
Confirm that it represents the game
Public Roblox imports, uploaded references, and automatically generated output can all be incomplete or misleading. Before upload, verify that the thumbnail shows characters, environments, rewards, and interactions that players can actually encounter.
